Co-Owner and Swine Nutritionist, Groupe Cérès Inc.
Dan Bussières is a swine nutritionist and the co-founder of Groupe Cérès Inc. Based in Lévis, Quebec, Groupe Cérès specializes in all areas of swine production and offers many services, including consulting for swine production, the production and distribution of breeding stock, and sales of nutritional products. Today, Groupe Cérès and its other business partners employ more than 100 people, and the company is committed to working with Canadian pigs and producers.
Groupe Cérès and its affiliates influence the feeding of more than 5.5 million pigs annually, including those at HyLife, one of the top two swine producers in Canada. Groupe Cérès is also involved in swine production, managing a network that produces more than 300,000 pigs every year. Bussières also consults about the nutrition and production at Tianzow, a breeding company in China that has 80,000 sows in production.
Bussières helps develop and monitor nutrition programs for swine producers all over Canada. He also works with many industry partners to conduct field research projects to develop new feed programs that help optimize the performance, profitability and meat quality of pigs. He has given many presentations at producer meetings and various swine production conferences and seminars.
Bussières graduated from Laval University in Quebec in 1996.
