Research Director, Hellenic Center for Marine Research
Dr. Ioannis Nengas has served as the senior researcher at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research for over 25 years. He is also the deputy director of the Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology and Aquaculture.
Among Nengas' research interests are the evaluation of the nutritional quality of raw materials, nutritional requirements, formulations of practical diets and the effect of nutrition on the growth, quality and health of aquaculture species. He has participated in numerous European Union research projects, and he has published more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has co-authored several fish nutrition-related book chapters.
Nengas received a doctoral degree in fish nutrition from the University of Plymouth.
