Dr. Katerina Kousoulaki is a senior researcher at Nofima AS in Bergen, Norway. She leads research projects in fish nutrition and physiology, raw material processing and feed technology related to aquaculture, fisheries and the development of new ingredients for the aquaculture and food industries. Prior to joining Nofima, Kousoulaki worked as a scientist and research director at Selonda Aquaculture in Greece, focusing on feed quality and the establishment of new production technology for diversification of farmed species in Mediterranean aquaculture as well as the determination of the nutritional requirements of farmed fish.
Kousoulaki received her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Athens in Greece, her master's degree from Wageningen University in the Netherlands and her Ph.D. from the University of Athens in Greece, in collaboration with the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research and Selonda Aquaculture. Her current work focuses mainly on the effects of new dietary ingredients on fish health, welfare, production characteristics and final product quality for the consumers.
