Judith Bokman is the executive director and one of the founding board members of the Standardbred Retirement Foundation (SRF). SRF is the oldest, most productive organization of its kind and has served more than 10,000 Standardbreds.
Bokman has served as the managing director of SRF since 1989, overseeing the strategy of the mission as well as a staff of six and 400 trotters and pacers in need of homes at 24 facilities. She advocates for the horse racing industry to create ways to provide a pension for every Standardbred horse and campaigns for follow-up on and lifetime protection for any horse needing to be re-homed.
Bokman previously served as an educator and as a flight assistant for an international airline. She is married to Stephen H. Bokman, D.V.M., M.S., an equine veterinarian who specializes in Standardbred racehorses. She received a bachelor's degree in education from Wagner College and studied in the master's degree program for social work at Rutgers University.
