Chief Executive Officer, Mewah International
Michelle Cheo is the chief executive officer of Mewah International. She joined the business in 2003 and, in her current role, is responsible for the formulation and execution of the company’s overall strategy, as well as new business development, project execution, corporate risk and factory operations.
Cheo has been instrumental in the expansion of Mewah International’s supply chain, which has included building an additional refinery, a biodiesel plant, specialty fats facilities and a dairy factory. She has previously worked for ExxonMobil in both the United States and Singapore.
Cheo received the 2019 Her Times Women Empowerment Award Winner for Entrepreneurship. She currently serves on the 60th council of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industries and is also a board member and chair of the audit committee of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra. She previously served on the future corporate capabilities and innovation sub-committee for the Committee on the Future Economy.
Cheo received a degree in chemical engineering with first-class honors from Imperial College at the University of London and a master’s degree in business administration from INSEAD.
