Nikki Putnam Badding

Nikki Putnam Badding

Director, Acutia and Human Nutrition Initiatives, Alltech

As a registered dietitian nutritionist and a nutrition solutions specialist at Alltech, Nikki Putnam Badding helps farmers and producers apply the lens of human nutrition to agricultural practices for the improved nutrition of plants, animals and consumers. As a nutrition solutions specialist, Badding delivers human nutrition communications to consumers and to the agriculture and food industries, with a particular focus on addressing dietary inadequacies through naturally enriched functional foods.

Prior to joining Alltech, Badding was a dietitian for a large grocery retailer, where she served as a nutrition expert and spokesperson for the company. She has also conducted research examining the food environment as a determinant for obesity and community-based behavioral interventions focused on chronic disease prevention.

Badding received her bachelor’s degree and completed her dietetic internship at Iowa State University, and she received her master’s degree in nutritional science from the University of Kentucky. She is an active member of the Dietitians in Business and Communications practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
