Randy Lamontagne

General Manager
Cowtown/Welsh's, ASF

Randy Lamontagne is the general manager of Cowtown, Welsh’s and ASF. He grew up on a mixed farming operation in southeast Saskatchewan, Canada, and also worked in the family business at a service station and on oil rigs. Later, he became the owner of a bar, restaurant and hotel in southwest Saskatchewan, which he operated for three years before they were destroyed in a fire. Afterward, he moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, where he sold cars and started a wholesale distribution tire company, which he operated and expanded until he broke his back a few years later.

After spinal surgery and six months of rehab, Lamontagne was told he could not return to his previous job, as it would be too physically demanding. This opened the opportunity for him to go to school to become a power engineer. In 1995, after successfully completing a degree in engineering, the opportunity arose to manage a western wear store in Regina called Cowtown. This experience put him back in touch with the public and retail. People are Lamontagne’s passion, and in 2000, he became the general manager of Cowtown.

Since Masterfeeds acquired Cowtown in 2002, the business has grown from one store and $3 million in sales to three stores, two franchise stores and $20 million in sales. Two new stores were added in 2016 alone.

Lamontagne and his wife, Cynthia, live on an acreage about 25 minutes outside of Regina and have three daughters: Rachelle, Rebecca and Danielle.
